Yes we do evolve totally, lol. I have a different post style than a few years back. I really dont shoot different is more in the post work. Ive grown into softer tones with my event work, kind of vintage just not too vintage so they are not dated. Just tell them as they probably more or less shoot the same so they can post produce your wedding that way. Its perfectly reasonable to ask since the style has changed since hiring them..

You’ll have at least one more meeting before the wedding- when you do, I’d simply state- “We really prefer the style/look that you did for the Jones and Smith weddings versus Thomas and Rogers, the softer/romantic look from those first weddings is why we booked you.”

Or it couldn’t hurt to call them now, just to touch base, and see if they’re still comfortable shooting in the softer style.

If the style you are asking them to return to is a matter of post production and not composition, then it’s worth talking to them about.

I wouldn’t worry about being tactful. You’re hiring them professionally, after all! Just be honest about your thoughts and try to get your money back. Did you sign a contract already? I would talk to them person to person and be kind and honest.
