I thought about it, but there is REALLY no way to tell what a dress will look like on your unless you try it on in person. Just looking at the models, everything looks good! I got a dress I never would have considered because the dress style I thought I would like looked terrible on my body. Just a thought.

I’m planning on doing this through dressilyme based on the reviews. If you search “dressilyme” or “china dress” in the weddingbee search area you will find TONS of posts about this. If you want to know my thoughts…

-I want to go through Dressilyme because I have only ever seen positive reviews. The only negatives is that the dresses are not IDENTICAL to the dress in the pictures, but they are nearly identical. The other issue is that the material is certainly nice, but not $10,000 nice. Considering the price is $150-$300, I wouldn’t expect that anyways.

-I am going to go wedding dress shopping before I buy. I want to see the sillouhettes in person, and many of the gowns on dressilyme are available to try on in store once you track down the maker.

-I am considering using a professional seamstress to measure me. I have heard too many stories with things like “OH NO! I thought that shoulder to apex meant the OUTSIDE of the shoulder!!!!” I rather pay the extra $50-75 to have someone professionaly do so.

-I would recommend asking for fabric and dress samples from the company before you order. This is a good way to ensure you are getting what you want for material and colour.

Good luck!

Hey there. I just ordered an engagement dress through Landy Bridal, if that helps? I’ll keep you updated if you like on:

You can see what my experience was like! Also, I would serously consider Jasmine Bridal for THE dress, as they can use designer grade materials (although they are more expensive).

I got measured professionally, but my measurements and her measurements were WAY out… in the end I went with my gut and increased her bust measurements a bit, and then made the hips and waist a bit smaller. It was really strange… she gave me 2/3 inches “breathing room” in the hips, and then made the measurement super tight over my boobs. But meh. I live in South East Asia, so maybe it’s different there…

I bought one off the classifieds on Wedding Bee. I had her put it in a listing on eBay to protect both of us.
