I’ve never seen that particular color but I did wear an after six bridesmaid dress and found it to be very true to the color on the website (I wore shamrock).  I think you can tell a lot by the placement of the color in the color chart. Cameo is right next to oyster and ivory, not located in the “pinks” section so I think that says it will be more beige than blush pink. Plus if you look at the sidebar where it shows you flower girl dresses and coordinating ties/accessories, it definitely does not look as blush pink as the pic of bridesmaid dress might imply. You can request a swatch of the fabric on the website. Good luck!

@Leggy: Beautiful colour. My BM’s wore a chiffon dress in spa (aqua) colour. The colour swatch and how it looked on-line was true to how it was. Though in some professional pics (must be depending on the light) it looks more blue than tiffany blue, if that makes sense.

@Leggy: I actually just selected this color for my bridesmaids. The store had a short dress in the chiffon with a satin belt so I could see it in the full dress. I’d say it’s sort of somewhere between beige and pink.

I think it’s a funny color that will chameleon well when put next to other colors. Next to pink things, it will look pink and next to beige things it will look beige. Having peachy pink flowers like the ones in this photo will help.

If you’re open to another fabric, the pearl pink in dupioni is similar, but the color is more saturated, so it’s a tad brighter.

If you are looking for a less expensive swatch than the ones they have on the Dessy site ($15 is rediculous), Joielle has them for $3 each. They are smaller, but at least you’ll be able to see the color better. Good luck!

@Leggy: I actually went back to the store today to show my bridesmaids the color of the dress they had in stock. This isn’t the style we went with (we got a long halter one), but at least you can see the actual color on an actual person, and not a website. She’s got the sash that I’m wearing wrapped around her because I wanted to make sure they went well together, so ignore that ;-). The square sash hanging down at her waist is the satin belt that goes with the dress. Hope this helps!

^^^I think the socks really “make the dress.” 😉 Very pretty shade for bridesmaid dresses.

I hope this isn’t too late, but let me share my own little experience with the Dessy dresses (specifically, the colors “rose pink” and “cameo.”).

I am having a garden wedding in May, and my wedding dress is a flowy, silk chiffon Monique Lhuillier. The whole aesthetic and vibe of the wedding reception is going to be very feminine and romantic. My color palette is pale blush, the palest of pink, ivory, and champagne/nude/light taupe.

For a long time, I was considering the Dessy Twist-Wrap dresses in rose pink. I had always invisioned my (7) bridesmaids wearing flowy, silk chiffon, pale pink dresses. I liked how the Twist-Wrap dress can be tied to suit a variety of styles and body types, however. Upon second thought, my Mom and I thought the matte jersey wasn’t our favorite fabric. I also started having second thoughts about the rose pink!

I went to Bella Bridesmaid to look again, and decided I liked many of Dessy’s short, silk-lux chiffon dresses. I still couldn’t decide between the blush pink and cameo colors, however! It took a long time to decide. However, after seeing the rose pink color next to a white wedding gown, it looked a little too bubblegum “Elle Woods” for my taste. The cameo, on the other hand, was perfect. It’s much more of a NUDE-pink, if that makes sense. No, it’s not officially considered a “pink” by Dessy – it’s considered more of a neutral. The store owner called it a light beige or even “champagne.” However, we all agreed that the cameo color looked much softer and more romantic next to the white wedding gown than the rose pink. I would highly recommend it! Seeing it in person, I would describe it as a very, very, VERY light nude, blush pink (almost more of a nude ballet shoe color). It is GORGEOUS. The rose is definitely pink, but just a soft bubblegum or baby pink. It was beautiful, too, but the “cameo” color was more “me.” I hope this helps!

Leggy, it looks like the “cameo” color is a light beige on the website, but I would agree it has a HINT of pink to it, after seeing it in person. I think we have the same taste! Glad you took a picture – it’s very true to how it looked to me in person. I went with Cameo, too, and am so glad I have! I think my girls will love it.

I am not a fan of the satin sash, and will probably tell my girls not to use or wear it. What do ya’ll think? I picked out 5-6 short, silk chiffon Dessy styles, and the bridesmaids can choose which style they want – but they will all be wearing the color “Cameo.” I like this, because each girl can pick a style that flatters her, but there is continuity with the color palette.

Thank goodness i found this post…i am currently facing the same problem. I am not exactly thrilled with the color “rose” as it is a bit bright for me. I had hoped, like you girls, to have a more blush pink tone for bridesmaid dresses. I think Dessy may have used to carry an actual blush pink dress as when i searched for images of pink dessy dresses i found pictures of the dresses i like but in a softer, nicer shade of pink. Have you ladies received your orders? is the cameo truly pinkish in tone? sorry, i can’t really tell from the photo above as the lighting seems to be a bit darker. Does it look like those initial inspiration photos posted?

Unfortunately, i live in Vancouver, BC (in Canada) and so the options up here are more limited and the salons i’ve visited do not carry this cameo color but what is being described sounds lovely and what i’m looking for. Any thoughts or ability to repost a photo…pretty please??

Hi ladies– I too am considering the “cameo” color for my bridesmaids. This thread was really helpful to me in deciding to order a swatch. I just received a swatch today and for those who are curious, I would definitely call it light peach. As others have said, it is a peachy-pinky-beigey combo, but it is not PINK. If you are looking for pink, I think you will be disappinted in this. If you are looking for a very light, ethereal, pale peach-pink-beige, this is your color. I’m pretty sure this is what I’m going to with!

@blc– I also think they used to have a “blush” color, but I believe it is discontinued.

Dessy sent me 2 5×7 fabric pieces for $15, which is crazy, but I really needed to see the color. If anyone wants me to cut a little piece off and pop it into the mail, I would be happy to do so.

Here’s a picture of the swatch fabric next to white paper, pink paper, a manilla file folder, and my skin tone.
