kvorce:  It helps to know a bit more.  About how many people?  Fancy? Laid-back?  Alcohol or not?

Hi. I am a Maryland bride from Baltimore county surrounded by water. I’m having an October wedding on the water. The ceremony is outside reception is inside. It’s called Hawks Pleasure Club. Super affordable and offers everything I wanted. The cater or you can bring a outside caterer. The inside requires some decoration but is fine if you plan on having a more diy type wedding. Also the Balco Club is very similar. There is also a place called Conrads Ruth Villa which is gorgeous but was out of my price range. Hope this helps !

Celebrations at the Bay and the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club are on the water. Not sure how expensive they are. You should check out baysidebride for more ideas

Has your sister found a venue yet?  I would definitely +1 on the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club.  I attended a wedding there about two years ago and it was STUNNING.  It was located in the Beach House Ballroom, I believe?  I think they said it was a recent addition to the property or something, so I don’t know if they’d do any discounts now as it has been a few years, but it was so so pretty.

We got married in NYC but our families live in MD so we had a second celebration at the picnic shelters at a Sandy Point State Park on the bay. It was very casual but perfect for our needs and extremely beautiful. We reserved the shelters through the county as well as liquor permits and parking was $5 each car I believe. We reserved Peregrine and Osprey shelters, if anyone is interested, as they were closest to the Bay and bathroom.

Definitely check out county/state park properties, they are generally more reasonably priced than private ones.
