My husband and I have always wanted to go to an all-inclusive resort somewhere. For our honeymoon, though, we really wanted to go to Hawaii, and Hawaii doesn’t really do all-inclusives, so Hawaii won out.
Now, we’re looking into the possibility of planning a trip. We’re looking into the Caribbean or maybe Mexico. We need to price some things out to determine if we can even really afford a trip like this right now.
But, do “affordable” all-inclusives even exist?
Have you been to an all-inclusive? Any tips or recommendations or experiences to share? I’ve never really looked into this all-inclusive thing before. Thanks, ladies!!!

Try looking into cheapcaribbean.com or even groupon travel deals for packages. I think there are definitely some good deals at affordable prices to be had at all inclusives!

Use oyster.com for reviews. I LOVE that site – and the pictures are really helpful. We’re thinking about going to Jamaica in May and it’s been a great resource.

We’ve been looking on http://www.luxurylink.com/ . We haven’t picked anything yet, but there are a lot of beautiful places on there!

Cheapcaribbean.com has a lot of deals and the way it’s layed out is easier on the eyes than other sites. They have a ton of all-inclusives with a wide range of affordability. They even have a split deposit payment system which is nice. I will be going through them for my honeymoon to Jamaica this July!

Awesome, thanks hun! I will check that out today!
I’m so into reading reviews on places before I go. Thanks so much!
Thank you for the link!
We don’t have an exact budget in mind yet, but most of the places I’ve looked at so far are quoting from $500-$800 a night. Add roundtrip airfare for two people, and we can probably stay for…two nights? Haha. I’m thinking < $3,000 to even make it feasible to go anywhere.

Split deposit would be great! And something user-friendly would be nice. I think that’s why I was going crazy even just trying to price things out!

I really liked the pricing of the Couples resorts in Jamaica. My ex-FI and I were on a pretty tight budget and still thought it was doable – can’t remember any prices now, but you might wanna look into that. If you do an ‘off’ season you can prob get decent flight prices as well.

Basically, we splurged on our Maui honeymoon and want to return there for our five-year anniversary. So we’re trying to see if we can afford to fit in another tropical vacation before 2016 (which seems so far away), haha!
The cold Ohio weather must be getting to us. 😉

If you are honeymooing in the summer (ETA: just noticed that it’s not a honeymoon. My bad), after your wedding, you should have no problem finding an all-inclusive that’s affordable, as it’s the off-season. Be prepared for rain though.
I expect you are American, so Cuba isn’t an option, however our March vacay to Cuba is $1100 each, airfare, taxes, fees in, and that’s during the peak season. You should quite easily be able to find a package for $1000-$1500 each in somewhere like the DR or Mexico.
Have you talked to a travel agent?

Great! Totally doable, I would look into the British Virign Isles…lots of amazing, all inclusive, over water cabana stuff for the beach lovers of the world!

Thank you! Which of the Couples resorts was it? (Looks like they have several in Jamaica.) Would you recommend it aside from pricing?

There was a cheap place in the Dominican Republic, but airfare was more expensive/travel time was longer. I think you’ll have a hard time doing a week for two people under 3-4k. But check out Groupons and cheapcaribbean.com, etc.

We just went to Mexico all-inclusive in January. Everything including flights was $2,400 on Expedia 🙂 Of course we had a little spending money, but I am guessing it was less than $3k. Avoid going in March-April. It will be more than that, I am sure. We were in Cancun at The Royal Resort! It was Wednesday through Sunday 🙂
