@Jinlinsin:  I haven’t rented a vacation rental for a wedding, but some friends and I did this one year for Coachella.  It actually worked about to be around $100-$110 per room in the house, and not everyone had their own private bathroom.  It was still fun, but definitely not relaxing.

My Maid/Matron of Honor and friends are doing this for my bachelorette party in Savannah. Apparently it’s a historic Victorian home with modern amenities (including a hot tub). It’s like $100pp for Fri-Mon Memorial Day weekend.

Good luck with your room blocks…out wedding is in Center City and damn are those hotel rooms expensive!

My maid of honor is renting a condo in Philly the weekend of our wedding. I can’t personally vouch for it, but she went through http://www.vrbo.com (Vacation Rentals by Owner)

I’ve had positive experiences with using AirBnB and VRBO for my own vacation purposes.

I agreee with VRBO and AirBnB – nothing but positive experiences! And…you get much more bang for the buck!
