skunktastic :  I love the swing dress idea, but it’s a shame about the sizing! Most of my BMs are probably larger than a size 12. How true to size would you say they ran?

We’re using http://www.Azazie.com. No one is paying over $150 for a dress. The fabric samples are large and come in a variety of materials which is super helpful and their sample program is great for testing sizes and quality. I would check them out!

Considering your time frame, you will have to buy off the rack. I would look into the evening section at Macys, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, or Lord&Taylor. You may be able to find something on sale or inexpensive and find coupons online!

southernbellebee :  I found my girls’ dresses at an outlet store.  Try BCBG?  Their gowns are long too and they were just under $100.

southernbellebee :   I bought this for my BMs https://www.amazon.com/VonVonni-Womens-Transformer-infinity-Dress/dp/B00EHW8P6I (now it is ~$30) and was very happy with it. There is a lot of color available. It fits XS-XL and XL+pregnant bridesmaid, no alteration (cost) necessary, and one of my Bridesmaid or Best Man already use it for another wedding as dress. This infinity dress has lots of material, so it gives you more freedom to try several style/wrapping. It also can be cut to be short dress.

I would suggest to buy their tank top in matching color for girls with larger bust.

I’m running into this same issue.  Most of my bridesmaids have low budgets and I definitely want to respect that.  However, one of my bridesmaids has made it very clear that she needs a dress that will support her extra large bust size and need to wear a full bra with non-clear straps.  No strapless, backless, low-back, thin strap etc.  Makes it harder to find a cheap dress with those standards.

lleello :  Wow, thanks for opening my mind! I might go the amazon route and get dresses for under $50!

eurasianbee :  you’re welcome! I’d suggest to go to von vonni website to see the color and the wrapping variations, but buy it from Amazon.

harmonicsoul :  my sister wore a large and it fit perfectly.  She’s got a pretty significant rack and wore a corset underneath to keep it all under control, and that fit as well.  She’s not a 12 though, so I’m not sure how it compares.  Maybe 150 at the time of our wedding.  They definitely carry plus sized dresses as well though, if you look around.  I think 50s clothes look fantastic on plus-sized girls.

{just over budget, but covers upper arms}

If you girls are very hippy, tulle might not be ideal, but here are a few tulle and non ideas.

With a dolman shirt they don’t have to tuck in. I think these run a bit small. These will flatter most figures (even large busted gals). The springrose would look great with blush. If you go navy, then teal or navy top.
