Hey, I don’t know of any downtown in that price range, but my sister had her’s at the Milton Hoosic Club, it’s super close to downtown, so she had her photos taken in a few different downtown areas and then had the ceremony and reception there. Here is a link to her re-caps: http://newportnuptials.blogspot.com/search/label/Re-Caps

It is a very affordable location, and with close proximity to Boston, oyu can still ahve downtown photos.

I would look into Le Meridien (Hotel @ MIT) or maybe the Hilton Back Bay hotels.  They had the most reasonable prices in Boston that I saw when I was doing my own venue search.  You can also look into the Cambridge Multicultural Arts Center in Cambridge for a unique space.  They’re rental fee was very reasonable.

I don’t know about the prices for this place but maybe you can look into the Larz Anderson Car Museum in Brookline as well.

We have a similar budget and our top two contenders ended up being Le Meridein Cambridge and Hilton Back Bay, same as Lisa1783 mentioned. Le Meridien was definitely more modern, but my Fiance thought it was too plain and boring. We ended up choosing Hilton Back Bay – wouldn’t have been my top choice in terms of decor, but the price is right and I think we’ll be able to bring some more modern design in with the decor.

We had our wedding at the Prudential Building Skywalk, which we absolutely loved! Very modern, Boston-y feeling. 125 would work well in the space. Our budget was around $20K for 75 guests including everything. Let me know if I can help you with any more specific info, etc.

Hi Summer~

You may also want to try Lake Pearl Luciano’s in Wrentham, Mass, or Rhodes of the Pawtuxet in Cranston, RI.

I’m having mine at Lenzi’s in Dracut, MA for under 15K… check them out, I’ve heard nothing but great things about them otherwise!

Have you thought about a restaurant venue? It may be more affordable and require less decoration and expense elsewhere!

I know Les Zygomytes does weddings (http://winebar.com/weddings.html) but I imagine that a lot of modern restuarants would do this! Try Moo… Sel de la ter or just give your favorite a call!

Try the Commander’s Mansion in Watertown.  My daughter is having her wedding there in July and they have been fabulous.  It is a beautiful location and you can have your wedding inside or out.  Ask for Tammy and tell her Kerry sent you.  Also try Capers Catering – ask for Kristen or Emma, and again tell them Kerry sent you.  They have been great and the tasting was unbelievable.  They will do anything you want.  Our budget is $25,000 for 140 guests and we are having no problem sticking to it.  Also, Blooms of Hope are great for flowers!  Best wishes.

You should definitely check out the Renaissance Waterfront Hotel in Boston.  It opened about 2 years ago and is extremely modern.  We are getting married there in september and the prices were very reasonable for downtown boston location.  Good luck!

What about some of the newer hotels down by the convention center in the waterfront?  We stay down there a good bit when we’re visiting family because they are new and often cheap (when there’s not a conference in town I think they struggle a bit).

You can definitely do it for $30k in the city.  We’re getting married in Cambridge at the Multicultural Arts Center, and the rental is $3200, and our caterer (for about 125 ppl) will be about $11k.  It’s all about what you’re prioritizing, and how you’re breaking down your budget.  We went to New Husband to get flowers (SO MUCH LESS EXPENSIVE!!), and are not using a planner (that will be $1200+), and are also using a photog from New Husband (half the price of the ones I found in Boston).

Look around, there are lots of options.  Hotels will be more (we’re talking, $125+/pp, not including bar, grat, or the “service charges” a lot of places tack on), although I did briefly look into Le Meridien in Cambridge, which didn’t seem to crazy.  I also looked at “alternative venues,” like the Hellenic Center in Ipswich (www.helleniccenter.com), Cambridge Boat Club (http://www.cambridge-boat-club.org/), Community Rowing (http://www.communityrowing.org/special-events/special-events-2/), and you can always reach out to the event managers at restaurants/clubs to see what they can offer.

Good luck!  🙂
