Hi Madi! Congratulations and yay for October!
He obviously hasn’t married us yet, but Rev. G seems like the sweetest and most down to earth person. Plus he’s a cool guy and really easy to talk to.
As for price, let me check my contract…
There were 2 options. We went with option #2.
Option 1:
Officiant Fee: $225
Rehearsal Fee: $175
Travel Charge (Two round trips at @81mi) $60
$460
$200 down payment
Option 2:
Officiant Fee: $175
Travel Charge (One round trip @81mi) $30
—-
$205
$100 down payment
So as you can see, if you don’t need someone to help do a rehearsal, he’s VERY reasonable considering the other options in the area* He offers full conversations and going through everything that is going to happen during the ceremony. Unless you are having a very involving ceremony or your bridal party won’t STFU and listen to you, that is probably something you could do without the officials there.
*I originally thought $50-$100 would get a good officiant. It might be cheaper for you if you’re not trying to have a secular service. However for us, I spoke to 30+ people and all but 4 of them were $400 and higher. The other 3 I didn’t pick just didn’t click with us.
Please let me know how you’re doing in wedding planning! I’ve done a TON of research and have researched almost everyone in this area (or so it feels), so if I can help you out, I’d be happy to!
