My Fiance is Catholic (but hasn’t been practicing since coming to the US) and I’m agnostic (raised Christian though), so we decided against a traditional church ceremony and are getting married at our reception location. We originally had a friend who was going to perform the ceremony for us but he backed out once we set the date. Does anyone have any recommendations for an affordable officiant in the Los Angeles area? Everything I’ve been seeing is in the 400-500 range, which is just to expensive for our budget. And preferably a male officiant?
Thank you!

Do you hace another friend who would be willing to do it. On Gene Simons Family Jewels his wife got her license and registered with the county, so it is legal to get an online ordination (it’s free) and use that. It is what we did and the FH is performing his nieces wedding this weekend.

@tksjewelry: Yes, my friend that was originally going to perform the ceremony for us has already gone through that process! He asked a friend of his to get licensed to perform his wedding and he went through the license process himself to see how hard it would be for his friend to do it.
@slicey19: Unfortunately I only have 3 male relatives and they are all out of the country and will not be able to come to the wedding. And I can’t ask any of his family since they aren’t really comfortable with the whole idea of a non-Catholic ceremony in the first place.
Has no one seen anything less than the 400-500 range? Or any recomendations for someone that is in that range?

Reverand Ron Beams is fairly affordable. I believe he charged us $350, which was steal compared to other officiants I contacted. He is also a really nice person.
