You might want to look into our photographer, Jubilee Photography.  (http://www.jubilee-photography.com)  She’s in DE, but she travels around the DE/Philly area.  I believe her packages start at $1500 for partial day coverage, and she is very willing to work with you to create the best package that works for you.  I am extremely happy with our photos and I loved working with Kristen.  PM me if you’d like more info.  Good luck!  ๐Ÿ™‚

Hello,

We are going with Pete Lounsbury, website http://www.lounsbury.us/.  He is located in DE, but covers weddings in PA.  Ours will be in PA near Valley Forge.  He’s got great prices, around a $1000, and great packages.  For us he is also including an engagement shoot, don’t know if this is standard.  His photos do however seem to be a bit more traditional than photojournalism stye; but still seem to be very beautiful.

Ms. Candy Corn is starting up her photography business: http://www.fromagephotography.com/

This photographer is also newer on the scene so her rates are a bit lower: http://www.tinajayphotography.com/

Also if you’re looking for limited coverage (5-6 hours instead of the standard 8+) you might be able to come up with a custom package with a photographer who normally starts at a higher rate. Just because their website says they start at $3000+ doesn’t mean they’re not flexible to create a custom package for you that includes fewer bells and whistles.  It’s worth a shot ๐Ÿ™‚

Good luck!

Look into Cardens Photography. They live more near my area, but they travel all over PA and are from the Philly area so always jump at the chance to do a wedding there as well. I booked last year, but it was really affordable and they had a lot of options. If you want to see our pictures: http://www.cardensphoto.com/dalevictoria/  (if you want to see a whole wedding). Their website is http://www.cardensweddingphotography.com

Edit: ok for some reason the link to our pictures isn’t working; but if you type that web address in you can get to them. The address is right, the link is just acting funny. Or maybe I’m up too early???

I’m interested also!  Although we are having a small simple family ceremony so really only need 2 hours max.  Most of the photographers I have contacted have a 3-4 hour minimum…  or if I can talk them into it being a “portrait session” vs. wedding then they want $$$$ for the prints.  I would rather pay a bit more to have the CD with images.  I am looking under $500 for 2 hours max with 4 people (2 adults, 2 children) in Montgomery County.

My photographer is based in NYC but I believe they also have an office in Philly and I know they do packages under $2K. PM me if you want their info.

Philly photographers seem to be insanely priced, with $3000 seeming like the average for most that I looked at.

We booked Aaron Almendral, recommended by some bees a few years ago. His basic package (including all photos taken in both color and black and white, ~150-200 retouched photos, and 7 hours of coverage) is $1500. We have to pay I think about $125 since he’s travelling from NYC, but it’s still way more affordable than anything we found in Philly that we actually liked. his photos are gorgeous, too, in my opinion.
