1500 is a bit low in the Atanta market. 2000 is the base average for a professional photographer in Atlanta. However, you might be able to find a newbie or recent graduate able to work with your budget. Also, consider professional photographers that you like but see if they can give you reduced coverage hours to lower the package cost. This is a great way to stay within budget without sacrificing the quality of the photography.

@mrs.lockandkey:
Whoa! Thank you for the website. I haven’t ever heard of it before. Definitely a great resource!

@mrsmeehan2013:

I believe Atlanta is similar to Louisville as far as price ranges go so I’m pretty sure $1500 is a little bit low(average around here is about $2000-$2500) for the wedding day. However if it’s what you have to spend then it’s what you have to spend and while I think photos are important I think it’s more important not to spend more than you can handle.

You may have to sacrifice something like the amount of hours or go for someone whose quality isn’t as spectacular or “highly rated” but I think you can get a decent photographer in that area for the amount you have.

Unfortunately I don’t have any recommendations for you. 🙁

Good luck with your search!

@mrsmeehan2013:  My best advice to you is to check on weddingwire.com. You will find sooooo many photographers in your area and reviews. Before I booked my photographer, I found her on weddingwire.com and was very happy to see past clients’ experience with her.

Here are some options you can check out and remember you can always negotiate to lower the price of a package.

@mrsmeehan2013:Could you tell us a little bit more about what you are wanting to get for your 1500? That might help some bees give you some more useful recommendations. i.e. How many hours do you need? are you wanting products included (disc, album, prints, etc)? I’ll see if I can find you some rec’s but I would need more info to make it useful 🙂

@mrsmeehan2013:  I’ll see what I can find. But, honestly, finding “full day coverage” for 1500 is not going to be an easy task. Would you be interested in some leads from photography students?
