I want to do premarital counseling- just a few sessions as a precautionary measure to try to avoid potential problems in the beginning of our marriage. We are not religious, so we won’t do it with a church, and it seems like everywhere else charges $150-200 a session!! Has anyone found non-denominational premarital counseling that is somewhat affordable? Does insurance ever cover it?

Find a college, the psych students offer it at a discount and are overseen by a phd.

Look into the FOCCUS inventory? It’s available online. Many churches use it, and there are versions of it that are tailored to specific religious traditions, but it’s not inherently religious and can be suited to your needs.
I’m not sure how you go about reviewing your responses with a facilitator if you aren’t doing it through a church (ours was done through a church), but I’d imagine you could contact them to inquire.
