I second the Mandalay Beach resort. Saw a wedding take place there and it was beautiful. It was also about 5 minutes before my SO popped the question!

I was going to recommend Sterling Hills also.  Beautiful venue and one of the more affordable in the area.  Prices start at $31-41pp depending on the number of guests.

Look at DJ’s catering – he has a list of venues in the Ventura / Valley area, including some less traditional/common ones.

Look at http://www.WeddingCelebrations.com. This is the best site to find wedding venues in Ventura County. My finance and I have been using this website and that’s where we found Maravilla Gardens. We also found our photographer and florist on this site. Good luck!

I went to a wedding at the Bard Mansion in Port Hueneme. The bride’s mother told me the rates were around $21 per person for a full buffet dinner and that included the location and service. The number is (805)982-5293.

I had just found out about the Bard Mansion through this site. I had no idea it was on the navy base, but it’s open to anyone. The prices are fantastic ($39 per person for EVERYTHING- no surprises or add ons like other places I’ve looked at).The house is HUGE and has a very vintage/victoria look. Ask for the military discount if you are in or have family in the military.
