I’ve just joined weddingbee and this is my first post! My fiancé and I are looking for an affordable venue in the Long Beach/L.A./O.C. area for our October 2017 wedding. We’ll likely have between 100-150 people and have a total budget of $10,000-$12,000. Ideally we want the ceremony and reception in the same place and would like to have an outdoor or indoor/outdoor reception. We’d also like to bring in our own catering or have food trucks for a slightly more relaxed feel but it seems like a lot of places don’t even have that as an option. We’ve looked at three places but would love the opportunity to look at more just to make sure we’re fully exploring our options. Anyone have ideas of places we should check out?

creativeplannertobee : We’ve looked at the El Dorado Park Golf Course and they seem pretty great. Very accomodating, just not quite as pretty as I’d hoped. We also looked at the Griffith House in Anaheim and the Devon Estate in Long Beach. We really liked certain things about each of those as well but haven’t felt that “this is it!” feeing just yet.

I found this website to be really helpful with finding venues and comparing them and their costs.

You could look into community centers which have a rental fee of less than $1,000 such as Brea Community Center. If you know a resident, it will be even cheaper. I believe Brea allows alcohol if you hire guards. That’s the most cost effective I saw when browsing when it comes to venues. Venue fees unfortunately are pricey in So Cal. Also if you go to San Pedro or Dana Point, they seemed more affordable than say Newport or other coastal spots. Golf courses are likely out of your range being $100 per head and that’s your entire budget. Your total is 10k-12k with everything right, not just venue/food/rentals?
