mbfielder :  there are plenty of bridal designers with similar gowns in the $1000-1500 price range (which is pretty average for a wedding gown). $500 is tougher, as that’s significantly less than most gowns run – you could look at bridal salons and see if they have any samples they are willing to sell at a discount. Otherwise, I’d look at unconventional bridal stores (so not bridal salons) like lulus fashion lounge or ASOS. They bought have carried non-designer bridal-looking gowns.

Look at Lulu’s.com!  So many really nice dresses for $100-200.

I ended up with my amazing dress from David’s bridal for $325. Went in not expecting much, bought it off the rack and negotiated an extra discount.

I also looked online at Lulu’s, BHLDN, Nordstrom..maybe a couple others. There’s tons of options! It will help to know your measurements ahead.

mbfielder :  Watters does not carry any dresses in the $500 range, so you’re better off staying away from that line.  The only dresses that I found that were under $500 were ones at David’s Bridal or second hand dresses at consignment shops.
