We are looking to get married in the Denver area this July (on a Sunday) and are having a hard time finding an affordable wedding ceremony and reception area. We would like to have an outdoor ceremony and have the reception preferably at the same location or nearby. We will have less than 100 people and don’t need anything too fancy. We are looking for a place where we can bring our own alcohol and food in so we can save money that way. Any suggestions would be great!

My friends got married at rocky mt national park and had the reception at a nearby private b&b – it was great and quite affordable. Not quite in Denver though.

‘affordable’ is different to everyone… but, you could always do a park, if you have more than a certain # of people, you’ll need a permit and another for alcohol, if you choose to do that. I just started calling and emailing every restaurant (like we originally liked the tail gate room at blake street tavern, but would’ve had to do a make shift dancefloor) so we tried to think of places with a big room and every venue, golf course, rec centers and gathering space I could find.
I eventually found a decent contact at the miramonte lodge, which has 3 locations and are pretty reasonable and they will work with your budget: http://www.themiramontelodge.com/
also found this site, even though i’ve lived here for 13 years, i was unaware of a couple of these places and these pics do not do them justice, I’d also google each place and wedding and you’ll see how things come together better lots of options if you can byo food and booze etc: http://www.wedcheaper.com/Denver-wedding-venues.htmlhttp://www.denvergov.org/RentaFacilityforSpecialEvents/tabid/430252/Default.aspxanother somewhat decent place was a golfcourse in Golden, 3 tomatoes, dont have their website and she was a little sllow to respond, but I remember them being somewhat decently priced.
I also went on wedding wire and wedding gatherings and the knot and just emailed every vendor and asked them for a custom set up, something easy and affordable and gave them our budget and eventually came across a deal in Boulder at spice of Life that we couldn’t resist. I happened to have been placed on their email newsletter and saw a special that gave us over 1/2 off the room, so we went for it, sometimes you just get lucky!
keep a spreadsheet of who you talked to and be sure and ask about service fees and gratuity and tax. that you’re doing a sunday is going to help, you might opt for a diff month too to cut costs, we are doing a fri in april, which cut around 50%
🙂 good luck!

Congrats! I am looking at an affordable wedding venue in Denver as well. This is outside Denver, but it is so pretty if you like the mountains. The venue is the Evergreen lake house, which is beautiful. I haven’t been there but have had a couple friends get married there prior to knowing them. It is affordable because it is a rental venue through the city of Evergreen as it is part of the government parks and recreation. Look at the link below for more details.

I know I’m late to the thread, but am curious where you chose? I am looking in Denver area as well, preferably outside catering and alcohol too! Thanks!
