Thought about it for months,
Bought the ring,
Told the parents,
Asked her father,
Planned the day,
All set for next week.
Then, today a close friend of hers gets engaged, now I’m still planning on going for it next week as I’ve done too much planning to drop it all! I just hope it doesn’t cause problems!
What would your instincts be on this? No body else knows about the plans so I turn to the internet for help! Hahaha

This is about you and her, not her friend! Don’t change your plans. Good luck!

do: propose as planned
don’t: propose at her friends engagement party

Things all planned so that won’t happen 🙂
(iPhone was being funny with the ‘helpful’ button, sorry if it put thumbs down!)

I don’t believe in holding up significant life events for other people unless we’re talking about a sick family member attending a wedding or something like that. I say go for it, and if its a good friend, they will be happy for you both!

Go for it! Otherwise, how do you decide what is an appropriate length of time to wait? You’ve already got the plans, stick to them.

There’s no such thing as stealing thunder unless you do it during her friends engagemrnt party, birthday party, wedding, etc.
Good luck and congrats!

My friend and I got engaged the same day- it wasn’t planned this way, but we were totally happy for each other and zero sense of any stolen thunder. 🙂

If you wait for everyone in your life to be ready with you, you’ll never do anything ever.

I’d say go for it! And congratulations! 😊

Totally not stealing her friend’s thunder.

Keep your plans. Congratulations!

Her friend should be excited to have someone to ‘talk shop’ with! Congrats!

Go for it. They’ll have more fun planning together.
