I’ve been diagnosed with kidney stones, yay me!
It started Tuesday morning I woke up at 6, took my shower and when I went to get out I started getting cramps that I couldn’t stand or breathe through. They subsided and a low dull ache stayed in my lower abdomen, I tried to push on through but it didn’t work. I was barely able to get dressed, I started getting chills and dizzy and just plain feeling yucky. I laid back down in tears and told my husband what was going on, he finished helping my son get ready for school and took him for me. I finished my makeup and off to the ER we went, my Dr. wasn’t in the office yet and they didn’t know what to tell me to do.
They immediately thought it was my appendix, I couldn’t tell them my phone number or social through the cramping it was a 9 on a scale of 1-10. They ran blood and urine tests, hooked me up to an IV with pain medicine and fluids, then sent me for an emergency ultrasound, the baby was perfect and they hinted that we’re on team pink (though it’s early and we won’t be telling or buying anything until the 17th when it’s confirmed).
They determined that with the red blood cells present in my urine and no sign of infection that I have kidney stones. They discharged me to my Dr. who wrote a script for pain killers and sent me home to rest and not eat. Well you can’t tell a pregnant lady to not eat! I started out with good intentions with a bananna and toast, then we started watching movies and it turned to popcorn, lol!
Went back in this morning for another ultrasound and all is well, I’m pretty sure the meds are working for I just have a low dull ache in my back and lower abdomen, no more sharp piercing pain.
I didn’t got to work yesterday or today, I’ll go tomorrow I think. I went for a nice long walk with my son after our BRU ordeal. I don’t want to go through this again, super painful, blech!!!
