Hello all, I’m not sure if this is a waiting rant or a relationship rant. Either way I’m gonna rant lol. SO and I have been together for almost 23 months now (yes I still count the months) we always seem to have a good time when we’re together (though we almost never know what we’re going to do ahead of time). Usually we go out to dinner and then go shopping and drive around once it’s late. One time we actually went into Manhattan and went to a Titanic exhibit at the Discovery Channel Museum. So why is it that when I suggest going to another museum to see a photography exhibit he gets an attitude about it? “Oh, you’re going there? then no, I’m not into museums” He enjoyed the last few museums we went to! Grr. I’m not one of those people where I NEED to go to a museum once a month (or even weekly) but if I hear about something I want to see I try very hard to go see it. I feel like if when we get married I will have to go to these things alone. But it’s something I wish I could share with him. I do love SO, but there are times where our differences annoy me.

I understand what you’re ranting about! Me and my SO have a lot of differences when it comes to hobbies and interests. We tend to compromise most of the time. I guess you just have to let him know how important it is for you to go and how much you’d love it if he joined you. Keep in mind that he doesn’t and shouldn’t have to share in everything you’re interested in, but he should be going every so often! It’s also nice that you have different interests 🙂 It’d be kind of boring if you loved all of the same things, lol, it keeps it interesting.

Oh the joys of being in a relationship…..
Do yall live together?

@Eva Peron: Nope, we don’t live together and only see each other once a weekend. I was hoping to see him again today since it is a long weekend but he didn’t come with me. 🙁

My boyfriend and I have a number of different interests, I’m really outdoorsy and he likes his computer games, we worked it out by buying me a playstation controler and him a pair of walking boots 🙂

Awww I’m sorry! maybe you can ask to do something with him that he would like so you can see each-other this weekend?
Yes, wait till your married and you find out his in home hobbies such as leaving the toilet seat down, wet towels on the floor, laundry issues etc.
haha! I’m sure you both will work things out! Hopefully you guys can see each other more frequently as time goes on.
