I am still somewhat in a state of disbelief, but it’s happy :-).
After about 4.5 years of being in a LDR (the last four years were about 5 hours apart), my Fiance and I returned home late last night from moving him back to our hometown. Ironically, this happened on what would have been my grandfather’s 93rd birthday.
It really hasn’t hit yet, since we are still living in separate homes. Our apartment search starts next week. We have a lot coming up, especially since we’re getting married in three weeks!
It was definitely a long haul (both the drive back and the 4.5 years of long distance :-)). I honestly think the long distance was one of the best things that happened to our relationship. We got to accomplish some of our goals, and we really became excellent communicators. We’re proof that a LDR can work! As much as our LDR helped us, in some weird way, we’re definitely excited to be moving forward to a new chapter in our lives.
I know I haven’t posted on the LDR boards much, but if any bee ever needs any advice, I’m more than happy to share what worked for us!
