There’s a reason you mom burst into tears!  That dress is perfection on you!  OMG!  Stunning.  There is nothing simple or plain jane about it!  It is jaw dropping!  SCORE.  Forget about the others hanging in the dressing room.  None of them would have been THIS dress.

Truthfully I’d leave the dress alone with any additions.  I’d wear a knockout necklace and amazing earrings, some kind of hairpiece and you will be a goddess.

WHOA!!

I read this thread this afternoon when I was having Internet issues and the photo wouldn’t load. From your description, I was expecting something very plain and simple. I just came back to read this again now when my Internet is working properly.

This. Dress. Is. Jaw. Dropping. Gorgeous!! WOW!

I LOVE it, and I am someone who loves bling!!

BEAUTIFUL dress!  It looks so great on you!  If it’s too “plain”, get a gorgeous belt, a statement necklace, and some gorgeous earrings and WORK IT.  I think once this is decked out with accessories you will LOVE it.

This dress is ahhhhmazing!! I knew it was a mark zunino before I even read your comment! I ended up buying a pnina from kleinfeld, but honestly, my heart was with a mark zunino….and in the end, I ended up having dress regret and bought a Lazaro haha…but when I see that mark zunino I was so in love with, I’m still like “damn, that dress was amazing”. Mark has a way with dresses and they make your body look incredibly. I know the one I wanted had an amazing inner corset and I’m sure this one does too! I definitely think you made a great choice!!

Your dress is gorgeous and you look gorgeous in it. There’s not a single criticism I could make. It is nothing like a prom dress. It’s extremely bridal. It’s right up my street personally, too.

Everyone loves it, but I still think you need to go back and try the other dresses on to set your mind at ease. Just because you look stunning doesn’t mean it’s your dress. You clearly seem disappointed at the lack of lace, bling etc. I detect a desire to please your mum over yourself and that worries me. You just need to be sure.

On the other hand, seriously consider that you have spent money on a dress and you can’t keep chopping and changing. If you change it has to be because this dress could not be fixed to your liking and you know you’ll always regret having such a simple dress.

My dress is not too different to yours. Maggie Sottero’s Lacey. It’s pretty much my dream dress. https://www.maggiesottero.com/maggie-sottero/lacey/8284

I tried an Essense dress that was almost identical to yours but discounted it as it was too soft for my personal taste and I am very hourglass shaped so I felt it was just too much emphasis on my wide hips. The Lacey was a little stiffer and more formal in the material, and flared out higher which made me feel slightly less Jessica Rabbit. So if they stock the Lacey it could be worth a comparison. and the Lacey Marie version would give you the detail you seem to crave.

But if you stick with your dress, have a look anyway at the applique design on this Lacy Marie version. Could you add something like that to your dress? It gives a good indication of where bling or lace could be added without ruining the lines and drape of your dress. The first photo is of the Essense dress I tried which is almost identical to yours. I wouldn’t normally advise a belt with a dress draped like yours, but this corsage one really works- I think because it echoes the softness of the dress material. Photo 2 is of the Lacey Marie and this is how I would choose to adapt your dress because I like the placement of the appliques and having tried both styles, I found this more slimming than a belt.

Hope these photos help you see how you can ‘decorate’ your plain dress without ruining it.

It looks stunning! I would die for that dress. I think it’s very wedding themed not prom!

I think its very simple I would add a belt to make it pop with a little sparkle. I would look at any bridal boutique im sure you can find one for a reasonable price.

I absolutely love your dress! I said ‘wow’ out loud when I saw it. However, just because it is a beautiful dress doesn’t mean it’s necessarily the dress for you. The most important thing IMO is how you feel in it.

iscnrr1331:  I think its gorgeous! I would add a brooch or something sparkly on the side. In picture one, where you hand is placed – see where the fabric comes and kind of stops? Right there would be perfect for something sparkly!
