- Wedding: May 2013
I’ve seen a couple of similar questions asked but my circumstances are a tad different so I thought I’d ask my question anyway. My dilemma is that I’m bascially having a destination wedding since most people coming will be flying in and I’ve always heard to invite all of those who are traveling to the rehearsal dinner. Since this could be about 150 people, my fiance is thinking it’s too much and suggested having a dinner with just the bridal party, parents and grandparents and then having a party following for everyone who has come in. How could I do this and not make the others (especially family who has traveled) feel like they aren’t important enough to be invited to the rehearsal dinner? We have it in the budget to have the after party be open bar but should we also offer apps even though we will have all eaten and I assume everyone else will have too since the party wouldn’t be until 8ish? Any suggestions on what to serve, what to say to everyone else, what the after party should be called? Oh and it can’t be called a welcome party because we’re having one of those the night before the rehearsal dinner for anyone who wants to make a trip out of it and come in on Thurs. Any thoughts would be appreciated!!
