(Closed) After the wedding- venue question- please share

We had our things picked up and packed out right after the wedding. What she has told you doesn’t seem strange at all. We stayed the night at the venue, so our wedding party packed everything up in their cars and took it back to our house.

We took our stuff the night of but we didn’t need to take the plates or anything since those were provided by the location.

We had everything packed up and we had to take it with us that night. From what I’ve heard this is a pretty common thing. BUT we arranged for some friends and my parents to take the stuff with them. That way we could exit as normal and everything. Have you planned on having a wedding corrdinator? Do you have some friends that you could give this task to?

It’s pretty standard at many venues that you need to clean up all your own stuff and take it with you at the end of the night – otherwise it’ll probably get thrown away, and you may have to pay extra fees for the “extra cleaning” the staff has to do.

At my friend’s wedding, the other bridesmaids and I helped pack up all the stuff, along with the bride’s close family.  With enough people helping it should go pretty quickly.

We also have to get everything out that night, and like you, we were planning on going out after. I will probably ask my Dad to bring the car around and get any gifts, and our DOC said she would pack up everything else and get it to us the next day. Perhpas you could designate someone who isn’t planning on going out with you to pick everything up if they’re willing.
