For the married bees… What kind of expenses did you have post-wedding? I’m sure there have to be some, maybe preserving the dress, going over the allotted time for the reception venue, etc. I’m trying to budget and want to be sure to include post-wedding costs.

The only things we had were cleaning the dress. I tried to preserve the flowers but it didn’t work (I didn’t want to spend hundreds on getting them freeze dried though). We actually got money back from the reception venue because we were over the limit.

We ordered a copy of our marriage certificate… And we had to pay about 20$ to the rentals company for a couple of broken dishes. That’s it, though (besides moving…)

Changing your name. Which i think is pretty silly.

We had to go back the next day and pay for another case of wine, but it was worth it! Also dress preservation, wedding photographs, thank you notes and postage.

Thank you’s and postage, new driver’s license, official copy of marriage license, pictures outside of what was included in our photography package, dress preservation, and stuff while on the honeymoon (checked luggage, food, souvenirs). Oh, and we also paid the person we had check our house and mow the lawn while we were gone. I think that’s it!

Thank yous. Editing the full length video to a trailer. Extra hour for the photographer, who stayed later than planned. Framing guest fingerprint tree. Any photos / frames / photobooks. Dress cleaning.

Haven’t had wedding yet, but this is what I am planning to spend
-thank you cards + postage
-printing proofs (photographer will provide DVD, and instead of her providing proof album, I’m having her stay an extra hour, because I can print 1000 photos for $0.10 instead of her cost of a couple hundred for a “proof album”)
-photobook me, parents, his parents
But remember there is money to be made after your wedding selling the decorations etc. and any left overs to other brides 🙂
