Darling Husband and I were married June 1st. The contract said we would have our account with our digital prints by 6 weeks or sooner after the wedding. It’s been about 6.5 weeks and our photos have not yet shown up on the proofing site, although other events that happened AFTER our wedding have. I am afraid to ask the photog about it because I dont want to be an annoying pest, but I’m starting to get a little nervous. What do I do? Should I wait until August 1st and then ask her about it because then it has been 2 months and I can feel more legit in asking about our photos?

There’s nothing wrong with sending a small follow-up email.
The same thing happened with our engagement photos. Our photographer said they would be up in two weeks, and after a month of waiting I finally emailed them and *politely* asked if they had made any progress.
Turns out there was an error with the proofing site, and the photos had been ready after only one week, but there was a problem with the upload! If I hadn’t have emailed them, they wouldn’t have known!

@raspberry bride: ugh i dont have an email for her…i’ll probably have to call. that’s really scary about your engagement photos, i hope something like that didnt happen to ours! i made an account on the proofing site last night just to make sure and we were not listed.

I’d just call and politely ask about it. It’s not like it’s 2 days after the wedding and you’re asking, it’s been six weeks! Tell her you’re anxious to see the awesome photos of the day, but be nice about it and not accusatory at this stage. Good luck!!

You can certainly call, and it would not be annoying. You were told it would be six weeks, and it has been. It would be another think if you were calling a week after the wedding. Like abbie017 said, just be nice about it–tell her you can’t wait to see the pics and are wondering when they will be available.

As long as you’re polite and not freaking out, it should be fine. Just say “Hi, I was checking in regarding my photos–I was told it would be 6 weeks and I am just on the edge of my seat! :D”
If other things that happened after your wedding are popping up, it’s very likely that they just forgot to post them or there was an error on that aspect and they will fix it as soon as they realize it.

I used to be a wedding photographer’s assistant and we had no problem getting a phone call around the time prints are due to check on progress when we were running late. A lot of times it’s because the photographer has been busy and hasn’t set aside the time to go through the photos (and with digital it’s a ton of photos!) Call him/her and if you don’t get a hold of them send an email (it should be somewhere on their site or in your contract) or mail them a polite letter letting them know that you’re excited to see your prints.

Just call and nicely ask.
We tell people 6-8 weeks, but like everyone else, we’re human too and sometimes life happens and we get the flu or such.

Hey 🙂
I got married on June 2…
Honestly I don’t know if our contract says when the photos were due to be back to us.
I called around July 5 and the photog told me they’ll be ready by the end of this month because they are so busy with summer weddings. Maybe yours is in the same situation. I think after a month has passed it is okay to ask.

as a photographer and a bride who got completely screwed by my own photographer (don’t even get me started, but it was horrible!!!) you should get her email and make all corespondece via email so you have it in writing. that way you have proof of what is said and promised. I got married last september and still don’t have all the photo items I paid for and they have gone out of business, and they never even let me know!!!

@Mayzee: OMG NIGHTMARE
@Garnety: your comment prompted me to go on facebook and check out what they have been doing. she went on vacation for a week in June and has done about 2 weddings each weekend since mine…so I think she probably has been really busy and might not be done mine yet. i saw yesterday that she posted that she is sick or something, so i think i’ll wait another week and then just call.
Thank you everyone! 🙂 This whole wedding process I’ve been really afraid to talk to vendors, etc. because I dont want to seem “demanding”. However, we all know how expensive photos are and I’m really nervous about not getting them for some reason (probably because our first photographer cancelled 3 weeks before our wedding…so I know that anything can happen!).
