I’m 11 weeks and 2 days along, and luckily I haven’t vomitted once though I came close few times.
I noticed that starting mid-10 weeks and onward, I all of sudden started feeling absolutely normal and great in the morning. I’m focused at work, and I would be super hungry (but without nausea or stomach burning) and could eat pretty much anything without any issues. Yay, right?? The only thing is though, come ~2 PM I start feeling awful like clockwork and nothing helps. I tried saving some of my lunch to eat later in the afternoon and eating it (no appetite though), suckling on lemon drops, taking frequent breaks and walks, drinking tea and chocolate milk – nothing. I just feel awful awful awful (slight cramps, nausea, discomfort in the stomach, and a bit of headache) and can’t focus on work whatsoever. I then somehow drive home, eat dinner (usually something tangy/spicy because I feel like I can’t eat anything else), and start feeling ok (~6-7 PM) until I go to bed.
Anyone else feeling like this? Is there anything else I could try to alleviate this?? Or is there a reason why I feel like this? It’s really driving me bonkers! I just want to pack up and go home at 3 PM everyday. 🙁 Ugh.

I’m only 6ish weeks but I feel similar. After lunch the crap feeling kicks in.
Have you tried ginger or peppermint candies? Those can help sometimes. With dd I ate goldfish crackers like non-stop because if my stomach was the slightest bit empty – bleh!
Sorry mine didn’t get better until closer to 12 weeks!

I had NO nausea /morning sickness, but I still had this at times in the first and second trimesters. I would just get so f*cking tired and gross-feeling after lunch and feel like death warmed over. I went home and napped a few times. Eating smaller amounts definitely helped some… ugh. Good luck!

Yeah, this happened to me. I had really bad morning sickness from 6 – 12 weeks, and it was typically worst in the morning. I would vomit most days first thing when I got up and continue to feel shitty until like 7 or 8 pm. Then around 12 weeks I started to feel better in the am, but worse in the pm. It wasn’t until 24 weeks that I felt 100% good all the time, unfortunately.

I have a gaggy nausea where its mostly in my throat. I feel better when I’m eating but getting myself to eat is difficult bc every smell bothers me. My nausea strikes at its worst randomly….sometimes i feel ok in the AM. Sometimes im ready to cry from how sick i feel at noon. Its annoying!!

Redholix : Sorry you are dealing with this. I dont have advice on how to feel better but I did go something similar. Throughout the first trimester I would have some minor nausea in the morning or anytime I got hungry but I would eat and almost always feel better. Like you around 10 weeks it went away but around 13 weeks my nausea came back with a vengeance and I actually throw up a couple times. I just felt off with nausea and tummy problems from week 13-15 and I asked my doc what the heck? Im in the second trimester shouldnt I be feeling better now, not worse? Doc replied that each pregnancy is different and women can feel Ms at anytime during pregnancy. I am now 30 weeks and have felt pretty good since week 15 but a couple of nights last week the nausea came back!! Its crazy!! Knock on wood been ok since last week. I hope some other bees can offer suggestions on how to feel better. I sipped on ginger ale and that helped me a little but was about it. If it keeps up you can always talk to your doc. Good luck and hope u feel better soon!

Redholix : I felt like this earlier in my pregnancy. I’d snack to keep the nausea at Bay. Pregnancy Pops are a godsend! They’re little hard candies that would help the nausea go away.

amanda1988 : Aah…and I was hoping that it will go away next week. >_<
Westwood : I’ve tried ginger candies before switching to lemon candies (I’m not a huge fan of peppermint unfortunately). I had so many of those ginger candies per day that I basically got sick of them lol. Same with goldfish. They were great while I found them attractive…
KittyYogi : How long did it last? Did you start feeling better eventually?
tiffanybruiser : 24 weeks! D:
chocolateplease : I know what you mean. For me, sometimes I have really really good days – and I would be so happy and eat/work/do everything (while at the same time, worrying about whether the baby is ok), and then bam. Things come back worse than before for two-three days. Then repeats. 🙁
candy08 : Oh boy. I wonder if mine will also last a lot longer than anticipated. I feel a bit torn about my nausea, because it’s not as bad as what I’ve heard/read about – so I can’t tell if I’m just being a little whimp… A part of me is miserable, but a part of me is like “just suck it up it could be worse!” haha
iluvhummingbirds2 : I’m not sure why snacking doesn’t do much for me… 🙁 I usually have to “snack” enough to fill my tummy (aka just a regular or slightly smaller meal). Might look into getting those pops if this doesn’t go away soon…!

Are you taking Materna or an iron pill? I would get reallllly bad “afternoon sickness”, then tried switching to take my pill at night instead of in the morning and it helped a lot. I still felt a bit queasy in the afternoons but munching on animal crackers or arrowroot cookies helped a lot. Also, smoothies! I read somewhere that protein is apparently good for helping with pregnancy nausea. Good luck! I’m 17 weeks and immune finallllly just went away about 2 weeks ago!
