My Fiance is in the Coast Guard Reserves (after being active), in school, and soon to be starting a new job this fall/late summer. I’m a public school teacher. haha, I don’t think I need to explain that money is super tight for us with everything going on. Our original plan was to not take a honeymoon, save our money, then have our dream vacation to Italy later on in life when things are more comfortable and before we decide to have children. (Sato vacations was still a bit pricey for us.)
But THEN, someone at his base reccommended Armed Forces Vacation Club as an affordable place for vacations. I don’t know this guy, and I am usually VERY wary of any “club” type things so I wanted to reach out and hear what any of you bees had to say. We saw the Space-A tab and, while they seem amazing, many sound/look just too good to be true.
So, I’m just curious! Has anyone used AFVC? Specifically Space-A vacations? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!!!

I know a TON of people who have used AFVC and love it. I am a MOB who was in the military for 26 years. The only time we had reservations with them, we had to cancel our plans. We were going to get a condo by DisneyWorld for 329.00 for 7 days, fully furnished with laundry, kitchen, and pool. Like I said, I know a ton of people who use them and I won’t hesitate to when we travel again.
Also, there is NO cost to join and you can find reviews of their properties if you use Google. Good luck!

@hermom: thank you!!! It’s helpful to hear from someone- I saw the $329/week rate and just dropped my jaw. Thanks for the advice about google reviews, I will definitely check them out.

I’ve never used AFVC. It looks like a great deal except you’re so constrained on days, and it’s impossible to search by specific dates. I can’t find a single vacation that fits our honeymoon window due to deployment status.

It has been about 4 years since I used it but we searched the Orlando area for the week we wanted to go and had no problem finding a condo. I don’t know what has changed because I haven’t used it since, but you had to stay for 7 days (Sunday thru Saturday maybe?) and we had lots of choices in Mid-October.
