MrsYoshida:  I know this comment is at least a year old, but I think the main reason is biology. On average, girls begin puberty two years before a boy of the same age would. Additionally, women tend to prefer men who could easily provide for a family, which will usually mean a man who is at least a few years older. Yes, there are tons of generalizations there, but keep in mind that I am talking about humans as a species.

I am not sure if I replied to this thread yet, but I am between year and 1.5 years older than DBF. Currently, I am 20, and he is 19. Since we started dating in high school and since I was two years ahead of him, the gap felt a bit frustrating during my first few years of college. But now, since we are both college students, it matters a lot less.

I’m 26, he’s 32.  He is 5.5 years older than I am.  We’ve been together for 8 years.

I am 27, and my fiance is 33.  There is a slightly less than 6 year difference between us.  I will be 28, and he will be 34 when we marry next year.

 I was 16 when we first got married about 9yrs ago, my husband was 21…(5yr age dif)  Now ten years later we are having a wedding!! YAY:). I will be 26 he will be 30…

LaTortuga:  We are almost in the same boat! Fiance and I are 7 years and 3 months apart. I was 21 and he was 28 when we started dating. When we get married, I will be 24 and he will be 31. Honestly, if you meet him..he looks like he’s 25. His dad is in his 60’s, but I swear when I first meet him he looked like he was in his early 50’s and same goes for his mother.

I am 25 and my partner is 38. 13 years <br />I like to think I keep his spirit young, yet he offers so much wisdom and knowledge to things I’d never think about. Never a dull moment with us.

DH is 3 months older – we’re both 43.
