I have a friend whose husband is 8 years older. It seemed like a lot when we were 23 and they first started dating, but less so over the years. I think how big of a deal it is depends on your respective ages – 20 and 26 would be a more significant gap than 30 and 36. However, I don’t think 6 years is that significant overall.

Definitely not a huge gap! A friend of mine has the same gap in her relationship. Seems pretty normal.

laurenwilliam:  really? 6 years? We have an 8 year gap and no one cares. That’s strange. A 6 year gapi is sigificant if a 16y.o. is dating a 22 y.o.yes but once you are past the early-mid 20’s an age gap of 6 years is nothing!

Fiance and I are 11 years apart! Age never matters to me, so I don’t let what people say or think bother me.

6 years is nothing 🙂 20 years apart here, couldn’t care less about other’s opinions nor do I entertain them. You shouldn’t either!

13 years between me and Fiance, no one bats an eyelid 🙂 it is funny when he says “do you remember when…”,  and I’m like “no I was still in school”, or I mention some childish thing we did as kids and he’s like “no I was busy working” lol

We have a 7 year age gap- I’m 27 and SO is 34. To be honest I hardly ever notice and don’t get many comments. I like that I’ll always feel young haha 😀

Age is really just a number. Two people the same age can be total opposites, but you can find a soulmate with a big age gap.

I’m 31 and my fiancé is 26 – there’s 4.5 years between us but you’d never know. We’re both as bonkers as each other and people frequently get our ages the wrong way round!

In real terms 6 years is nothing… just try ignore them & move on with your wedding planning!

We have a 6 year gap too. People made a lot of jokes about it when we met as I was still quite young and we just laughed it off, but 7 years later and married no one really mentions it anymore.

6 years is really nothing. I am 26 and Fiance 37, so 11 years apart. People who ask are propably just curious.

Age is just a number! Im 31 and partner 42 and have never been happier, and everyone who knows me says that too! We have more in common that i did with an of my ex’s who were all similar ages to me.  As long as you are happy the age gap shouldnt matter!

I wouldn’t worry too much. My parents are 11 years apart. My dad being older.
