I officially moved out at 22 about a month before getting married. I pretty much was living away from home by the age of 18 though because I went to college in another part of the state…so I was only home for summers and holiday breaks….living on campus in the dorms, which my parents paid for. Even though I wasn’t living under my parents’ roof for my college years, I never truly felt “moved out” until I had my own place that I was paying for with my own money.

Went to college at 18 and lived on campus. I only went home during the summer for the three months we had for break. My senior year of college I moved in with my current boyfriend at the age of 21 and live with him full time and will continue to do so from this day on!

I clicked 21-24 because that’s when I had no intention of going back to my dad’s for a few months or something. I was moved out for a while when I was 18 and a while when I was 20 as well though, and was only there for a few months at a time.

Moved out for college at 18, only lived at home for breaks and 2 summers after that. When we graduated, DH and I moved in together and we lived with my parents for like 2 weeks before our lease started.

I was 20 I believe. I moved out before the start of my senior year of college. Went to school in the same town I grew up with, had a great relationship with my parents, was respectful of their rules and never felt I was denied freedom while living there, so it mae no sense to me to move out until then. I stayed at home, went to school full time and had a part time job. Saved up some money for my future and didn’t have to worry about housing expenses until then. Was engaged withing a year of moving out. Lived in a few apartments with my fiance afterwards, saving up for a house, and finally bought our first home when I was 25.

Moved out for the first time at 17, my parents wanted to move back to the coast and my brother and I did not, so we stayed and they left. Lived with my parents for a short while again at 18 & 19, but then moved out at 19.5 to finish college. Moved home for a month at 21 and then have been on my own ever since.

3 weeks after my 17th birthday, I didn’t even bother attending graduation.  Moved in with cousins of some sort on my dad’s side for the summer.  My mother was not pleased I pulled that stunt since she had her dream graduation party planned and I was an ornery enough teenager to be quite happy to piss her off.

I’m still busy ruining her dream events if I’m supposed to be involved.  Only yeah, it’s not fun now.  But it’s not her wedding or money, so her dream isn’t happening.

I moved out at 18, when I left for college freshman year. Came home to my parents house for the summer, and that fall moved to another state with DH (then BF) when we both transferred schools. I was 19 when we moved in together, and we’ve lived together ever since. We finished up college, and moved back to our hometown where we bought a house. And they lived happily ever after…haha. 🙂

doglovingwife:  I moved out for grad school into my own apartment when I was 22, moved back in at 24. I began dating my fiancé when I was 25, and moved in with him about 2 months before I turned 26. So I guess the answer is 25!

I was 23. My plan was to stay home till finishing school. Especially because I have a mastiff whom wouldn’t do okay in an apartment and I didn’t want to live with roommates either. When I met my fiance, he already had hoped to buy a house and things just sort of fell into place. We had been dating a year when we moved into our house. We started moving on my birthday after the family dinner lol.

I moved out at 21 when I went to live abroad for a year. Then I came back and stayed with them for a year and a half until I got married at 23 and moved in with DH. In our culture (Puerto Rican) typically daughters live with their parents until marriage. Sometimes it was annoying but for the most part it was ok- saved me a bunch of money for sure!

I didn’t count University years because I came home frequently and lived at home during summers, then moved back when I graduated. I moved out officially when I had just turned 23, but I had lived abroad for a year beforehand.
