I was working on wedding stuff. All day I’ve made sure to keep putting the pen caps back on my gel pens before setting them down. Well, I must’ve forgotten at some point because I looked down and noticed there is a HUGE ink stain. At first it looked little and I put a paper towel on it to soak it up (not rubbing, blotting) and then it got bigger. So I got the rubbing alcohol out, blotted again, and most of the ink seemed to have come out. I got the couch soil kit and there is still a dark stain but no longer as bad as before.
I can tell that even with the spot wet there is a stain. And I can’t decide if I should let it dry first and try to finish taking care of it tomorrow, call and see how long our warranty is (only 1.5 yrs old) or what.
I’m so furious. This is not how I wanted to end tonight.

Try hairspray. It is great for getting out ink stains. Darling Husband left a pen in his pocket that exploded in the dryer and the hairspray got out all but the absolute worst stains.

@Mrs.KMM: I was about to recommend the same thing 🙂

@Mrs.KMM: YES! I have gotten in out of white shirts doing this! With the pump stuff, though. Not the airsol (sp?)

Try a tide stick? I’m a member of the flip a cushion club…. ya know when all else fails.

omg. First you ruin the couch, then you flash your Future Father-In-Law. You are having a marathon week.
Did you try woolite spray? It gets dog pee out of our carpet, so I put my faith in that for everything stain-busting.

I was doing my nails and something rubbed off on the couch someway. and our couch is beige. And it was the BIG RED square. I have those tide to go pens. Got it right out.

If it makes you feel any better I was sitting on the couch a couple weeks ago and I got up and had just gotten my period, there was a giant blood stain on our suede couch. It came out pretty easily, but it was disgusting!

@MapleMoose: i was thankful that Darling Husband was actually out of town. I was hanging out with my SIL when it happened and she saw it first and i was like ewwww i hate being a woman sometimes!

I was going to recommend hairspray as well. It’s cleaned up quite a few of my messes!

@PitBulLover: oh I did that at my parents house…yikes. They have a red couch, which is fitting. It came out but my mom freaked out and told my dad and my Fiance. They both said they didn’t need to know anymore detail.

@PitBulLover: OMG, that just happened to me last week too! On a white couch, awesome. My go-to Woolite spray got it out with no problem.
Thank god my husband was not home at the time…how embarassing.
