13dpo today, CD105 (yes that’s not a typo) and yesterday I got my BFP! I am in the unique and difficult situation of having PCOS and using a known sperm donor (my DW’s brother).
We tried for the first time in March, BFN, then again at the end of April but it turned out I never ovulated. I was having a never-ending cycle and getting so frustrated with my body. I went to my dr, who suggested trying a naturopath, who was rude and horrible and charged me an insane amount. I went to a different dr, who referred me to a Fertility Specialist, who said she would look at prescribing Clomid, but not unless we committed to IUI through her fertility clinic, which involved numerous tests for me and our donor, and a wait of at least 4 months. Previously we had been doing at-home inseminations, so the idea of having to get time off work and go to a clinic was a real blow.
The FS gave me a prescription for Provera and told me to take it, then get a pile of blood tests (including the full glucose tolerance test) on CD3, and a HSG between CD5-10. As we had a holiday coming up, I decided to wait to take the Provera until after we came back so I was in our city at the right time for all our tests. Well, I ended up ovulating on CD92 and we were able to inseminate at O-1 and O day. We’re still on vacation and we are just over the moon.
I hope my story provides some encouragement to those going through the TTC process, especially those with circumstances that make things more difficult. We are by no means out of the woods, but right now I am pregnant and so happy 😀
Now for some BFPs!
