Do these baseball parks have any wooded areas, ponds, landscaped areas?  Those might be good places to focus on.  If you and your SO are into baseball you can probably get some creative shots.

Consult with your photographer and see what they suggest. If it were me, and my client told there was no where good to take photos, I’d be making a visit to the venue to check it out.

I agree with PP. Photographers have an eye for these things. I’m sure there are some places that will make for great photos, you just have to know how to find them. Bring your photographer to your venue and see what they say.

A good photographer doesn’t need a stunningly beautiful backdrop to take lovely photos. Where are you getting ready? Maybe take photos inside and outside wherever that is? I certainly don’t see the point in driving all over before the ceremony to get photos with the “perfect” background. Personally I find photos where couples are in dramatic settings to be kind of distracting from the beauty of the couple themselves.

We’re getting ready at our house, doing first look photos in the front of the house (believe me our yard is nothing special) then walking around the neighborhood for family shots.

Definitely talk to your photographer about this.

@virgomasala80:  I agree with PPs my photags arrived early the day of (they were from Out of Town and we were essentially eloping) to scout the sureounding area for photo ops, first look locations, etc. My venue also suggested a covered balcony space for the first look (which is what we used).

Have you asked your venue or photag for suggestions?

@virgomasala80:  it would help if we knew where/what your venue is. Church? Hotel? Courthouse, bed and breakfast? Barn?

Do you have a link to it or some pictures?  It would help us give you some ideas.

Ooh, it’s pretty!  I’d use the big staircase for sure.  It’s got a nice curve to it, so it should lend itself nicely for pictures, and it doesn’t take much to decorate.  Looks like the sample picture just had a bit of tulle draped around it.  The front doors actually have some nice details, and would frame you and your fiance nicely.  I’d take out the big mat in front, but I’m sure they’d be ok with that for the pictures.  That little bench area could be nice too.  It’ll have to be a tight shot since it’s a small area, but it’ll still provide visual interest.  I like the fountain, I think that’ll provide some nice color contrast with the dress.  I’d also look at bringing a chair outside so you can sit without damaging the dress – that way it’s not all just standing shots.
