I bought my dress the 1st time i went looking for wedding dresses it was marked down by 75% so i guess on the day i felt pressured to buy it cuz if i didnt it would of been gone if i changed my mind plus my mum loved it on me.. the fact it doesnt have a train at all has been bugging me and i found out to have a short trian added its going to cost $600! and thats not including the alterations to have the dress taken up.
I’ve been scrawling through photos of lovely dresses with trains (i don’t want a very long train) and now i can’t stop thinking about how plain my dress looks in comparison.. I’m having a garden wedding hence why i don’t want the really long train but i feel that my dress i bought is lacking the wow factor and i want it to have wow factor as its the only time im going to get dressed up in a white dress and marry my fiance`!
The first photo is of me in the dress i bought on sale and the second photo is similar to a dress i want to get.. Do you agree the 2nd one has more wow factor?

Dress #1 is WAY more flattering to your body. It makes your waist so tiny!

Please don’t kill me…the second one is a bit dated to those who follow bridal (the detailing on the skirt, specifically, isn’t very current). If you love it, that shouldn’t matter, but I’m willing to bet almost everyone will vote for the first dress.

I love the 1st one! It looks terrific on you. I don’t care for pickups at all, but still, you look fantastic in the 1st one.

I definitely prefer the first dress over the second one- not even a comparison to me!

@zippylef: I think the second dress photo isn’t with the OP. It’s a model. So we have no idea what she’d look like in the second dress yet.
OP, you didn’t mention any glaring budget concerns, so I’m assuming buying the second dress will cause no financial problems. All things being equal, I voted for the second dress. I know I’ll be in the huge minority here mostly because the second dress is slightly “dated.” But the dress you already bought will also be dated someday. Fashions come and go no matter what. Wear the dress you will feel is you! I had a poofy dress at a largely outdoor wedding. It wasn’t too over the top considering the grandeur of the outdoor setting, and it worked well despite a little train. I think the dress you love would work fine if that’s what you’re in love with. The only other thing to consider would be if adding a long veil to your current dress might give you the effect of a train without the $600 price tag.

Now i’m really torn! haha i guess the main thing about the one i bought thats bugging me is i want it to have a train it looks so much better with one for the photos.. just don’t know if its worth spending $600 just to have one added to it but I know what you mean about the 2nd one looking a bit more dated… il just have to think about it more.. i think i am comparing mine to my best friend’s dress (no picture of hers here) but she got married in a church so i guess hers was more formal than mine and she got beautiful photos of her twirling her train around.. ahh i need to make myself remember why i bought the first dress in the first place and stop comparing!

I wasn’t saying she shouldn’t pick the 2nd because it is dated. I was explaining why the results of the poll are going to be lopsided.

@cuddlz88: I strongly prefer the first dress! I was in a similiar situation and bought my dress at the first store I went to because it was 70% off. I wouldn’t say that I’ve had dress regret but I’ve wondered a few times if I should have waited to try on more dresses before settling. Then I try on my dress and I’m in love all over again and my doubts are put to rest! Not to mention my Fiance is very proud of me for finding such a good deal. =)
I’ve looked at a few of my friends’ wedding photos and most of them don’t have photos that really show off their train anyway. Plus if you get a train, then you have to pay to have a bustle put in. Just a thought!

Definately #1. Maybe you could do a long veil, that would give the look of something longer, without having to pay so much for the alterations and then the bustle!

I voted for the first one. I think it looks fantastic on you and will fit into a garden wedding better. If you want to up the wow factor, why not try on some blingy belts or try to find a killer veil?? What about some serious statement jewelry? I think your dress has a ton of wow potentinal!
