So, I just got off the phone with one of my BM’s and she had an appointment with her alterations lady. The lady was shocked as to how big the dress was, which the bridal store said she had to because she is busty. My friend is able to put the dress on and take it off zipped and everything!! I’m sooo mad!! They even made her pay extra because they made her get the larger size.
The alterations lady said that she needs to call the bridal store and demand that they order her a new dress or do the alterations for free. She was saying that she would need to take an inch off of each size and 2 inches down the middle, but obviously she can’t do that because of the beading and it would change the structure of the dress totally. Ugggg!!! We are 36 days from the wedding and this crap is going on.
Has anyone else had this problem?

I had the reverse problem in that several of my BMs had dresses that were too small. It cost one of my BMs MORE than the actual dress to have material added to the dress! I would definitely give the bridal shop an earful, and then see what the seamstress can do for your gals to make it work. Definitely make sure to let others know of that store’s huge mistake! You have every right to be totally pissed off! I know I was!

I think that you have to be very careful and not be fully trusting of the consultants.
I’m a street size 10. Measurements are 34, 31.5, 40 (I obviously don’t have much of a waist). She tried to get me to order a size 16 which has a waist measurement of 32. I refused to buy that big because I measured a size 10 in the bust and 12 in the hips.
It’s hard to “demand” the store do anything because generally, you sign off and they’re off the hook.
I’m sorry 🙁 I hope it works out.

Maybe you can post the dress and see if anyone has it in the right size that they might be willing to sell, and then return the original dress to the store??
