- Wedding: June 2013
I would like to include a notification that there will be an AHR in my invitations (or my STDs) so that our family knows they aren’t obligated to come to the wedding location. Has anyone done something similar? I thought maybe a small insert that just stated “You’re invited! In celebration of their marriage, Bride & Groom will be holding a reception in ______ on September X”
It will be a simple BBQ at a relative’s home (still deciding which location to use though) so there won’t be any need to RSVP to the AHR.
Is this suffcient? Or should I write something more to the point of “If you can’t make it to the wedding we would love to celebrate with you….”
This insert will be sent mainly to my family as the majority live in Northern California and the wedding is in Santa Barbara. In my culture, they would feel obligated to make the journey if the only celebration was in Santa Barbara, even if it was cost prohibitive. I just want them to feel like they are off the hook as they can celebrate with us later.
