I highly recommend Lillian Toma from Starlight Makeup Chicago.  She does a great job with airbrush makeup and will come to you.  I’ve known several people that used her and everyone was super happy with the results.  I wouldn’t say she’s super cheap but she definitely does a great job.  http://www.starlightchicago.com/

I recommend Sonia Roselli, she did airbrush makeup for my engagement session and was great!

Just want to throw something out there.  I know Sonia Roselli comes highly recommended and is the top bridal makeup artist in the city, but I’ve been trying to book one of her senior artists for a May wedding and haven’t had the greatest customer service from her.  We finally decided that I would do a preview with her junior artist, but it’s been a week since I told her that I wanted to go with the junior artist and provided my availability, and she still hasn’t responded.  Again, she is an extremely friendly and kind person, does AWESOME work, but I guess I just expected more from someone who comes so highly recommended.

I used Andie Cumber who is Sonia Roselli’s partner. I never had any customer service issues. Just the opposite. Andie was so friendly and helpful and always quick to respond. I highly recommend her. I wish I could have my makeup done all the time! 🙂

I hope everything works out, Lilhawkeye, and that you get faster responses in the future.

I would suggest several interviews with several artist before choosing your wedding day makeup artist. After all it is a very special day!

I wanted to mark this, bump it and say thanks as I love the look of air brush makeup, and will need to find a person specialicing in that too.

I booked with Chantel after researching a lot of the above mentioned artists because I also wanted someone who specialized in airbrushed makeup. I found the same thing, customer service wasn’t the greatest, etc. So I consulted with some recent brides in my area and found that Chantel came highly recommended and had everything I was looking for. Her prices are great and she will travel anywhere in the Chicago area. Good luck!

I have a question about Jo too…. Any recommendations for her? Sonia is booked and my only option is Jo.  Any other recommendations for makeup aside from Sonia?

I was curious how people liked airbrush makeup. I have heard a lot of great things about it and wanted to try it out.  What are the main differences between airbrush and normal makeup? Ive had my makeup done professionally before but never with airbrushing.

I actually just booked Jo a couple weeks ago because I was happy with my trial. Trials are pretty expensive-I think it was $95 if I didn’t book, but $40 since I did. I think it’s really worth it though. I usually wear a bunch of make-up (foundation, powder, mascara, eye shadow, etc…) so I didn’t think I looked that different. I must admit I was a little bummed because I thought I was going to walk out looking like a total different, better version of me. Instead I just looked more glam and it lasted longer. My fiance LOVED it-he thought it looked very blended in and not over the top. My friends who saw it also gave the thumbs up. She is VERY nice and the company was eaxy to work with.

After my wedding I stopped reading Weddingbee as much, but I’m excited to be back!  I ended up using Laura Black for my wedding makeup and she was fantastic.  She was super nice, did exactly what I wanted, and traveled to our location.  Her website is http://www.laurablack makeup.com.   Just a FYI – she used to work for Sonia Roselli, but not she’s out on her own and I can see why.  Let me know if you’d like any pictures 🙂

a girl I went to high school with just started out on her own business.  She’s very flexible and with her certificate from the state of Illinois, is credible.

I plan on using her for me and my bridesmaids.

Here is her website, http://www.redlipaccessible.com
