I wanted airbrush, but found out during my engagement photo shoot that I am allergic to the airbrush make-up that my MUA used. So my MUA and I worked together, with lots of Sephora trips, to find a primer/foundation/setting powder/setting spray that would last all day and night without making my skin react. That ended up being NARS skin smoothing prep/Smashbox 15 hour wear foundation/Tarte clay powder/Urban Decay setting spray.

I am an airbrush only person, I use it daily at home and love it!

I have been wondering the same thing. Does anybody know what the pros and cons are of both traditional and airbrush makeup?

@Nona99:  I am having my Airbrush makeup done at 10:15am on the big day (only time my MUA is available) and I’m worried about its staying power through my 3:00pm ceremony and 5:00pm reception. MUA swears it will last 12-14 hours without fail. What do you think?

I had airbrush makeup the day of and honestly it was one of the best decisions I made.  But…I have my own system that I bought a few months prior to the wedding.  I am really picky about doing my makeup so I practiced a lot and I think it looked awesome and I got so many compliments.  The system I have is Dinair…I love it!

I had one trial with airbrush and one with regular make up. I HATED the air brush! And I wanted to try it so bad,but it just looked horrible on me! Too much, too cakey and was not smooth or invisible at all. I look actually very young, but it it created lines that I had never seen before and that are usually not there (and I never had this problem with regular make up). So obviously I picked the regular make up and it lasted all day and longer.

I am doing my own I will do the foundation with airbrush I own Luminess Air (all natural and 100% cruelty free) and everything else Bare Minerals. I used Bare Minerals when I got married before and it was great, but I love using both.

I asked about airbrush with my makeup artist for my wedding, and she said she only recommends it for people who need more skin coverage for whatever reason (uneven tone, texture, etc) and she didn’t recommend it for me, so I just went for regular makeup. But I have a friend with perfect skin who got it for the wedding because she is a crier and it is supposed to hold up better with crying/sweating/etc.

I’ve been wondering about this too. I wear makeup daily, but not heavy makeup and I prefer looking more natural. My wedding planner insists that airbrush is the way to go, but she wears SO much makeup I don’t know if we would feel the same way haha. I feel like it often looks really fake when I’ve seen pictures of people who wore airbrush, but maybe that’s more from the makeup artist, and not the makeup?

@RunnerBride13:  I do mine own and it looks very natural. I us a combination of Luminess Air and Bare Minerals. I wouldn’t trust a makeup artist though, they are normally pretty heavy handed.

I hated it when I got airbrush for my trial, it emphazised my pores, didnt conceal a pimple I had at all, and made my normally combo skin actually super dry to the point that it looked unhealthy, like an old persons skin. I believe she used mac pro airbrush makeup(shes a mac freelance makeup artist) I actually ended up deciding to do my own makeup.
