Does anyone here know if you can use airmail envelopes to mail locally? I called my local post office and one woman was very rude to me because they no longer use that terminology and she didn’t know where i would find them. I told her I could order them, and gave her the specs of the envelope (13lb. paper weight, regular legal size, #10). She didn’t know so i’m turning to the hive for help! please help!

@nl: What is your concern with them? Here the important things are how a package is sealed, the weight, dimensions and address label.
Many envelops aren’t standard, but still get mailed. Sometimes they need extra postage.

@AB Bride: yeah… and surely you would think that the post office would be aware of any restrictions on that… but alas… they were clueless, and the rude women at my local PO just kept going back to the idea that she didn’t know where i could get them because the post office didn’t supply them. I explained to her as explicitly as i could that it was a regular envelope, just lighter in weight and has red and blue markings on it… but before i send out 80 invitations, I really wanted to be sure. I ordered a sample of the envelope to physically take to the PO. so hopefully that will clear it up.
