Longtime lurker, first time poster. We are getting married in an auto & aviation museum. It’s very modern, and we’ll be among the cars and planes for the reception. They frown upon flowers & open flames, which leaves me very limited for centerpieces. Our theme is more modern, so no vintage books, mason jars, etc.
Does anyone have any ideas? I can only find kid’s birthday stuff, and this airplane one below. Thanks!!!

That’s a really cute centerpiece. But I also feel like if you are in the center surrounded by cars and planes you may not want to add too much in the way of themed decorations? I do like the photo above though 🙂

What about frosted glass pillars (larger candle holders) with flameless candles inside? Clean and modern looking.
I agree that i’d stay away from getting too “theme”-y if you’re already surrounded by cars and planes.

I like the airplanes. Origami flowers in the right colors would also look modern and clean withouti playing too much to the theme.

The paper airplanes are so cute!
A former coworker of mine married a helecopter mechanic, so he took a bunch of interesting looking pieces out of the scrap bin and painted them. She uses them as paperweights. They look so cool.
You could go to a scrap yard and get some engine parts and spray paint them in your wedding colours. You could also get little fan propellers and arrange them like flowers. I think it would be really cool!

Maybe you could make this using an atlas….It would be a talking piece

I don’t think I would use “airplane anything” just because the wedding is in an aviation museum. The wedding should be a reflection of the two of you,not necessarily the venue. Unless you are into planes and cars, I would find another idea. You said your theme was more modern. Have you defined your theme?
Terrariums can be vintage or modern- the simpler and cleaner the lines, the more modern the look
Moss can also be used in a modern way-you could use moss instead of flowers to make these poms
your choice of container is important-combined with simple greenery
acrylic and air plants or orchids also give a modern clean lined look
a group of simple items can make a stunning centerpiece

If you do want to use something “airplane” themed, you could get pictures of airplanes, copy them on vellum and use them in trifold photo frames with a candle.
