You can hire a chartered shuttle bus to drive everyone from the airport to the resort (assuming everyone’s flights land at more or less the same time).

Try supershuttle! They have it from the FLL airport to  islamorada hotels. I looked and it was $288 for 10 people. I have had friends use them all the time when flying into Baltimore and needing to get to DC becuase its not “close.”

I’m looking at a similar situation. The closest major airport is about 70 miles from the town where everything is happening. I’ve suggested a few different things for my guests and I’m going to do some leg work to try to help them as well. Something to keep in mind is that all of your guests are big boys and girls so if you give them options, they’ll make the decision that works for them. The suggestions and options that I’ve given to my guests are 1. Rental car 2. A number of shuttle services 3. Contact me and I’ll connect them with someone arriving at the same time to either split the cost of a rental car or a shuttle. Shuttles are typically by the mile and not per person (but some are per person) so I’ve suggested to my guests that if they know others that are flying from the same area, that they try to book flights coming in around the same time so they can share rides. If not, I can be a point of contact and I’ll connect them and either book a shuttle for them or worst case scenario, go pick them up myself. My parents are coming to town early for the wedding (it’s a destination for everyone except my fiancé and I, we happen to live in a resort area) and they are most likely renting a minivan or safari van so they can make some airport trips as well. My wedding isn’t until May but I’ve already worked out a system to track what major airports people are coming in and out of in an attempt to make this as easy as simple as possible for my guests. I’m a bit crazy and willing to drive to go get people but I’ve already been told to just let people make their own decisions on this.

Oh my goodness! I’m getting married in Islamorada in February as well! (February 20th at the Islamorada Fish Company). I’m suggesting that people take the Keys Shuttle though I will be picking up my maid of honor. http://www.keysshuttle.com

I had to do a double take to make sure I didn’t write this, haha. What venue are you using? We should talk!

If I travel to a wedding that isn’t close to the airport, I assume I’ll have to rent a car.  Perhaps your guests will think the same.

Otherwise, I recommend super shuttle — you can get a group together and have it relatively cheap!
