I haven’t done mine yet, but I am going to do a hand-painted aisle runner with our monogram. I was going to do flower petals along the aisle, but I decided not to because:

– It gets expensive to have enough to make it look good.

– I don’t want my dress dragging petals behind me and am not sure I have the patience to make one of those runners with them glued down.

– I’m having chair covers with eggplant colored sashes on them, and I think that will be enough visually, I think I was risking getting too busy.

I LOVE beautiful aisle decor – some of the tall candle cylinders are so pretty. I think you have to be really careful though, both for safety and esthetic. Most of the pictures you see are when the ceremony area is empty and before the wedding has happened. The reality of some of the decor items are that people step on them/knock them over/drag them or the aisle just ends up looking busy once everyone is seated. Have to decide if everyone will be seated from the outside or the main aisle too. I’m hoping to do seating from the outside of the aisle so people don’t walk on the runner before the wedding, but it may be a tight squeeze. Have to see how many actually RSVP yes closer to the date.

Can’t wait to see people’s real pictures! I have lots of beautiful ones pinned but they’re more the stylized type I mentioned above that don’t necessarily seem practical.

@JJsGirl_09:  Beautiful! And you did it nice and wide so you didn’t drag petals 🙂

I’m having a little riser at the front like yours too and am hoping they can drape it as well.

mine was very simple.  pomanders hanging from the end chairs.

the ceremony was only 15 minutes long and then the staff had to flip the room for dinner set up.  i had to make it very easy to clean up, therefore, no rose petals, no runner, not a lot of votives, etc.  it was fine for the 15 minutes.

Due to the temperature I used curly willow on the aisle with a touch of candles, berries and roses.

We did mums and pumpkins. You can’t see very well here, but we wrapped the mum containers in a black plasticy sheet and tied some ribbon around it.

mypinkshoes: How did you attach the pomanders to your chairs? I have similar chairs and am not sure how to attach them.
