I just posted about aisle runners a few days ago. All the weddings I’ve been to have had them (except the backyard/pool wedding). I honestly didn’t notice them. Since my ceremony venue is in a historical building with original wood flooring, we may be required to have one. If not, then we won’t. We can’t justify the cost and my parents will be in wheel chairs and have oxygen tanks and I don’t want them to have issues with it.

I custom made ours – $13 for the runner, $8 for paint, but about 5 hours start to finish (my Maid/Matron of Honor helped, so it was actually pretty fun). Tripping was absolutely not a concern at all. Here’s ours (the filter skews the colors, so it was chocolate brown and metallic gold):

I realized that pic didn’t really help with the layout:

Im having an outdoor wedding and yes I couldnt walk down the aisle without one. The path has a cement walkway so Im putting the aisle runner there and angling the white garden chairs to a 45 degree angle. I also have to have some fabric draped, blocking off the walkway. Im not doing too much to the ceremony space though.

I dont like runners.  we are giving an outline to our aisle by having flower petals run all along the side!!! I love the way it looks, give the illusion of an aisle 🙂
