I am doing pew bows.  We’re not allowed to do any runners, flowers or anything like that.  The Catholic Church we are marrying is very strict!

We have pomanders for every third pew. They will be made of light green bells of Ireland.

I am making green and white tissue paper half pomanders for the pews. That is the only decoration I am having in the church. We can’t have any flowers on the altar and they would be hidden if we put them anywhere else. The church is beautiful itself so it doesn’t need much.

@rlaura76:  I feel your pain- the priest at our church won’t even allow pew bows, flowers at the front only and he was even specific about what size the flowers had to be. He did let me also have fern planters at the front

There are short column-like stands spaced between every 3 or so pews at our church. They’ll be draped with cloth and there’ll be flower arrangements on top of those. the pews at the church are wood and nicely carved so we didn’t want to add to much decor since that is nice in itself.

@dressme3:  I find that so interesting! We were asked to donate money to the church and let them decorate it with fresh flowers in the way they thought appropriate. They practically insisted on having flowers, otherwise I would have seriously considered a flowerless wedding!
