Ooh! One of my friends did this – and regretted it terribly. They said everyone else on the cruise was retired and though they enjoyed Alaska, they had nothing on common with anyone on the ship and didn’t have much fun onboard.

We’re going on an Alaskan cruise next summer (for my sister’s high school graduation).  It’s a pretty popular vacation for people in Seattle.  Everyone I’ve talked to said the cruises are amazing!  In terms of the other people on board, it really depends what company you cruise with.  Holland America is supposedly the premier Alaska cruise line, but they are also the most expensive and often draw an older crowd.  Companies like Royal Carribbean and Princess are more family oriented and attract more of a mixed crowd.  The season is pretty short (May-Sept) and the cruises are pretty expensive (though cheaper in May and September), but I think it’d be a great honeymoon.
