I am confused…how big are these bottles of wine that you can get 8 glasses out of them?

On a drinking night i’ll drink a bottle of wine by myself.  Maybe I’m a little more of a booze bag than your average jane, but it’s pretty common for my group.

I had 75 at my wedding (a handful of them being non drinkers) and we bought:

9 cases of beer (216 servings)

    24 bottles champagne (144 servings)

12 bottles white wine (72 servings)

    24 bottles red wine

*We figured 6 pours per bottle of wine, which is standard. 8 pours is a small serving.

Afterwards we did have quite a few leftovers, here is what was consumed:

    4 cases beer (96 servings)

    23 bottles champagne (138 servings)

7 bottles white wine (42 servings)

10 bottles red wine (60 servings)

= 96 servings beer and 240 servings wine/champagne for 75 people. Which means you need to double that at LEAST for 150 people.

So to me, 2 kegs sounds fine, but you need a LOT more wine. Like at least 80 bottles probably.

Yeh, I don’t see how you can get 6 real glasses out of a 750 mL bottle let alone 8.  Need way more wine.

Yeah, I’m another one wondering how a bottle of wine is 8 glasses–I would consider it to be five. Those would be some crazy small pours. Heck, I’ve got one circle of friends where we consider one bottle of wine per person to be necessary for a party.

    I vote for more wine.
