Same here, I get redirected to other sites 9 out of 10 times I’m on here through mobile. I used to post screenshots of the sites I’ve been redirected to on here but I just kind of gave up. Now I usually visit this site on my mac instead of my phone because I don’t have this problem on there.

aubreymer91 :  To answer the OP, no the site has not been compromised. I have spoken with our tech team about this particular issue on multiple occasions, and the conclusion is that sometimes spammy ads make it into the ad network that Weddingbee uses. They are not intentional, and unfortunately the only way to get rid of them is for us to block each ad individually. So if you come across this issue, if you can grab the URL of the ad and share it with me, I can pass it along to our tech team who can block it.

For more information, you can read this article: http://readwrite.com/2014/05/15/app-redirects-mobile-spam-ads/

I will bring up the issue again with our tech team tomorrow and let them know that the redirects have been getting worse lately.

Mrs. Mouse :  I wonder if the problem could be fixed by using a different/better ad service.

It doesn’t affect me – I don’t use my phone to access WB – but if you don’t fix it (i.e. get a better ad service, or get the one you use to lift its game), it sounds like you’ll lose traffic.

I use AdBlock on Chrome on both Mac and PC laptops and 1Blocker on my iPhone and (*knocks on wood*) ads/redirects are never an issue for me. Highly recommend.

I don’t even bother from my phone for this reason, which makes me visit this site MUCH less. I only check in a couple times a week because it’s a MESS from my phone. I have no problems from my laptop (MacBookAir).

aussiemum1248 :  yes I agree. WB admin know this is an issue for users of this site.

I don’t get why they do not change their Ad service. Their is no point  of them upgrading a site to make it more functional and attractive if everytime you log in on your phone, you get highjacked by a pop up ad….

Our tech team is looking into the issue to see what they can do. In the meantime, any URLs to these redirect ads that get sent to me can be directly blocked by our tech team. Thanks for your input on this issue.

As PP said 1Blocker was the solution for me on iPhone.

I’m not sure why the members here have to do the job for the tech team?   WE have to get the url and send it to the tech team!?  They can try the site on their own phones.  They can have the employees at the office try to use the site on their phones.

Plus this is a job for the Ad department. It’s not a tech issue.   It is a constant nonstop Ad takeover.  It is a terrible user experience to the point that I am shocked That the spam is letting me on the site now to write this.

Change your Ad provider.  I don’t see other websites having this problem.

I also agree with others that the site constantly reloads (in the middle of writing a response! So it is lost!) and typing in the response field does not always work.  Now THATS a tech issue.

The redirecting was bad for me a few months ago and I avoided coming on weddingbee on my phone because I couldn’t get out of the highjacked page ads (which would also make my phone vibrate without stopping to get my attention) without completely shutting down chrome and restarting it. Only after I had my phone loaded up with blockers and encryption software for work did it finally quit taking over my phone each time.

Annoying to say the least.

THIS SHIT IS GETTING RIDICULOUS!! I’m surprised it’s even letting me type with without going to spam that I can’t get off of. I just opened about 8 different boards and every damn one of the redirected me and I couldn’t get back. Idk how you expect people to stay on the bee with this nonsense. Get it together!
