I don’t have any photos for you, sorry. But I have seen both colors in person and I think I would prefer AA eggplant if I had to choose between the two. They are very similar but DB’s lapis is way too blue for me. Eggplant is slightly more purple in my opinion.

I’ve noticed alot of debate on the board about the David’s bridal colour. Some people seem to think it reads blue, while others purple.

The AA eggplant is quite nice.

I’m having a “purple” wedding and I’ve found that its nearly impossible to match two purples…more so than other colours I find. So I’ve gone with a mix of purples through out the decor.

I’ll be using different shades of purple for my wedding, too. I’m not worried about it. I think it will look nice.

My friend is doing AA Eggplant. I think it’s a pretty color.

I went through the same thing!  Originally, I wanted my girls to wear Lapis dresses from DB….but, I ended up going with the Eggplant from Alfred Angelo.  It is goregeous and an excellent shade of purpe.  I taken any pictures yet….but here is the dress in the eggplant color Smile

I’m a plum bride, (we’re going with AA Berry which is far more plum looking in person) but the dresses my girls tried on were in eggplant.  It’s a lovely color, but in the photos my mom took they all turned out BLUE…and I mean blue.  Not a hint of purple.  I don’t know if it was the lighting or what but the four of us stood there going, “wasn’t that dress purple?!?!”  I can get the photos from my mom friday and send them to you.  It was bizzare.

As a side note:  The fabric and fit of the bridesmaids dresses from AA is so far beyond David’s bridal it’s unbelievable, but you can’t get a bridesmaids dress for under a $100 from AA either.  After trying on dresses from both places the girls were unanimous about paying the extra for the AA dresses.

sheebsw:  do you have photos of your dresses. I am wanting the AA eggplant but I have seen it in about 10 different shades so I am thinking about just going with black.
