I don’t have experience with AA wedding gowns but I did recently wear an AA bridesmaid dress.  I’m sorry to say that it was the worst quality piece of clothing I’ve ever owned.  The fabric was terrible and the construction was worse.  The seamstress doing the alterations also confirmed that it was the worst she had ever seen.  I hope that this does not translate into their wedding gowns but I have a feeling it might.  Only one way to know though.  go try it on.

After just getting engaged there was an AA store right across from where I was at, and decided what the hell, might as well have my first expeirence inside a bridal salon. I wanted to leave immediately! Just touching the dress for a second makes you get that ichy scratchy feeling of a cheap polyester costume. I never tried anything on, so I can’t really speak for the fit, but I wouldn’t buy a dress of that kind of quality for my wedding day. *As a side note I appologize if I offend anyone who owns an AA, thats just my expeirence with it! :(*

My dress is AA and I love it. I’ve tried on over a dozen dresses from various designers and I honestly didn’t notice much of a difference in quality. I’ve also worn AA as a bridesmaid and never had an issue.

I’ve had a few friends and family members wear AA on their wedding days and they’ve all had nothing but good things to say.

ETA: We’re also going with AA for the bridesmaid dresses.

I’m looking at AA dresses too. Now I’m worried. I haven’t seen a price tag yet, do you ladies know any?

Now I’m worried :l

I don’t have any experience with Alfred Angelo gowns, but I do love some of their styles. As a seamstress, I can say that you will find poor quality in any line, if you look for it. I suggest that if you do like their designs, go try some on. You may be pleasantly surprised. I have seen a lot of bees get AA gowns and they seem to be very happy with them. Just make sure that when you are trying the samples on, and this goes for any piece of clothing that you try on, check the seams, try to pull them apart. If you see gaps in the seam, even if it has been tried on a kazillion times, that is not a good sign. Also, check the hem to make sure the stitching is straight. If it isn’t that is not a good sign either. That means whoever is sewing these gowns does not take pride in what they are doing and they are just trying to meet a quota.

@crh1729: Most I’ve considered have been $600-$1200. Mines $900.

Ladies,

I really did not mean to offend anyone.  Like a PP said, any designer can have low quality items and high quality items.  And quality is really a matter of personal taste/preferences.  As long as you’re happy with your dress, that’s all that matters.

I’d say it’s along the same lines as David’s Bridal, price and qualitywise.

I’ve worn an AA bridesmaid dress and I actually bought an AA wedding gown and I don’t have anything bad to say. I tried on A LOT of dresses before deciding to go with my dress, and I never felt like AA dresses were not good quality.

Ok, no offense in advance…

I tried 1 AA gown, 2 Justin Alexander, 2-3 Sophia Tolli, 4 Private Label by G, 1 Da Vinci… something like that. I find that AA gown is very similar to those Sophia Tolli in terms of the quality. I can’t say it was bad, but you know… you get what you pay. I was surprised that those Sophia Tolli gowns are not that great in terms of the quality. I find JA and PLBG have the best quality among all those I have tried.

But it depends on different styles. So go to stores to check out the style you want and feel it yourself. This is the best way.

I think my friend purchased an AA dress. I believe she paid somewhere around $1000 and she looked absolutely stunning. The quality seemed fine to me. Her bridesmaids were in AA as well and they were all nice dresses. I’m considering AA for my BM’s as well.
